I can totally relate. One year ago, my Instagram was hovering at 600 followers, had low engagement, and NO partnerships. I was working really, really hard and getting nowhere. Not a good feeling.
The tools I’ve learned have helped me grow my audience to over 13K loyal followers (and still growing!), earn over $50,000 worth of free products and experiences, and create paid partnerships with some great brands and organizations, including tourism boards!
Only one year ago, this was my instagram feed. Cell phone pics. 600 followers. Low likes and comments. ZERO brand partnerships. I was trying SO HARD, but people just didn’t notice or care.
It was so frustrating, and I realized that I needed to learn HOW to create solid content, engage with my followers and learn strategies to grow an authentic following… and get brands to finally notice me.
I needed to learn how to work smarter, and not harder.
Enter Instabrand Me.
I started to learn, bought a real camera, and tried new strategies for creating content, engaging with existing followers, connecting with new followers, and reaching out to brands.
As soon as I changed the way I was doing things, growth & engagement started to happen QUICKLY. As you can see below, the sponsored posts (mainly free stuff) started to happen.
There was a LOT of trial and error, or learning opportunities as I like to call them. Momentum continued to build and more brands started to reach out on their own! I was not only getting approached for posting in exchange for free stuff, but also for paid contracts.
Finally, here I am one year later. I was honoured to be named as a Vancouver Mom Top 30 Blogger, and my family has been able to participate in some fun experiences together, including the Birthday Train with Stanley Park Railway, Picnic in the Past with Heritage Surrey, Blueberry Picking with Klaassen Farms, and Beach Day with Explore White Rock & Kid Approved BC. You can also see sponsored posts with Cascade, Amazon.ca and Nutribar (all pictured here).
I continue to be a part of the Instabrand Me monthly live sessions and stay connected to the community to keep updated. I’ve learned SO much from Caley and have been able to pick her brain and get answers that have helped me negotiate paid sponsorships and long term ambassadorships, learn about the recent scourge of fake giveaway accounts and figure out the recent changes to Canadian Influencer Marketing Disclosure Guidelines.
Recent highlights of my instagram include: ambassadorships with Vancouver Leading Moms Conference, Save On Foods, Steve Nash Fitness Clubs and Endy, as well as an upcoming trip with Tourism Shushwap to help establish it as a great winter destination for families.
We all know that just went we have instagram figured out, it throws a curve ball at us. It’s been so reassuring to have the Instabrand Me community to ask questions and bounce ideas off. When instagram happens to throw a curve ball our way, I know I can quickly figure things out with the help of Caley’s constant cutting edge research and insider advice. I’m grateful to have this opportunity to ‘always be in the loop’.
I KNOW it’s hard to justify spending money on ourselves (especially if we’re moms!). I can say, without a shadow of a doubt that investing in myself to take this course was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I’ve found it empowering to be able to identify, develop and grow my own brand in order to increase my ability to direct conversations around things I care about and to make money while doing it.
This course quickly paid itself off for me… and it was a write off at tax time!
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about whether Instabrand Me might be a good fit for you! I’m here to chat.
