I hadn’t been to Cultus Lake Waterpark since I was a kid! Only a 75 minute drive from our Surrey home, it was a fun family day trip and great way to cool my son and I off in the summer heat. I found myself giggling all day. We had SO much fun and can’t wait to go back, bringing my hubby this time!
The day started off by meeting the owner, Chris, who bought the waterpark with his wife 25 years ago. They had lots of fun, and raised their kids there. But they saw even more potential for family activities in the Fraser Valley. They started to invest in the waterpark and add new slides and features–often at the suggestion of their own kids! Cultus Lake Waterpark now offers 15 acres of family fun, with lots of options for all ages and appetites for adventure.
Chris’ Pro-Tip: Arrive at the waterpark first thing in the morning (weekdays are best!), spend a few fun-filled hours, have lunch and get a bracelet for Adventure Park for only $15! Head over to the themed Adventure Park across the street for hours of thrills for all ages. You can also return the the Waterpark to cool off throughout the afternoon. It’s the best of both worlds and a solid full day of fun!

Bazooka Bowls + Pirate’s Cove
This was our first stop, as it has a wading pool, slide, and was a SAFE place to take photos without my camera getting splashed!

Water Slide
We then headed to the Adventure River, which my son would have been happy staying at the entire time. Calmly floating on tubes, under bridges, and with mild waves was so relaxing. He loved it. We did this for a solid 45 minutes.

We went over to the Pirate’s Cove, which is serious business. The impressive water dumps make QUITE a spectacle.
Pirate’s Cove
Ok, so we didn’t actually go DOWN this ride (I’m a big chicken!) But watching other people come down it was a 5 year old’s delight! “Mommy! People are sliding out of the snake’s mouth!”
The Rattler
Ahh, yes. Once we discovered Colossal Canyon, we went down it 7 times in a row. This slide, in our opinion, is the best in the park for both of our adventure levels! We loved how we could go down it with 4-5 of our new friends, and scream in glee the entire way!
I didn’t get a good photo of Colossal Canyon because we were having so much fun, but you can see more here.
Waterslides
Let me tell you, all of that walking up stairs and waterpark fun had us working up quite the appetite! The chicken fingers and fries hit the spot and got us refueled for more adventures.
Cultus Lake Waterpark Lunch
I’ve only lived on the mainland for just over a year, so really don’t know all that many people. Vancouver Mom has an extensive list of mom bloggers it its network, and it was great to connect with Liz from The Loud Introvert and Laura from Pretty Petunias.

And Tada! After a full day at the Waterpark and Adventure Park, this little guy fell asleep in the car with a big smile on his face. So much laughter, exercise and fun!
Happy Kid
