Learn all about making several different kinds of yummy holiday treats with Benanna Bakery’s Holiday Baking 101! With a regular cost of $79, this course is sure to teach you the skills needed to impress your family and friends! (Or just make amazing goodies for yourself!).
My new friends Tracey , Kelly and I had the best time giggling, baking and tasting the delicious homemade recipes together. In addition to being super educational, it was also a chance for us to be silly and social together– something that just doesn’t happen often enough as busy moms with our hands full!
We learned how to make traditional almond rolls, butterfly cookies, sugar cookies, and (my all time favourite!) vanilla slices. We were all thrilled with the hands on learning and chance to take home a haul of baking to share with our friends and family. My husband was out of town for a few days, so I brought my baking to school the next day— my co-workers and students happily gobbled it up. They all agreed that everything was delicious, and the vanilla slices were the BEST. THING. EVER. Have I mentioned how much I love vanilla slices? Haha.
This is a HANDS ON event. Bring your apron and rolling pin if you have them.
Ladies’ Night at Benanna Bakery
Ask anyone– I’m NOT a good cook… or baker. I don’t relate all ALL to those Pinterest moms who get all crafty with their picture-perfect holiday decor and baking. However, my son DOES love to bake, and we just got his allergy testing back that gave the all clear for milk and eggs. This opens up the options for what we can make together and we’re excited to try out some new recipes. We’re also hosting our families at our new house this Christmas holiday, SO I really need to learn some baking skills ASAP. Benanna Bakery, I need help.
Small Shop, Big Heart
We took a road trip to Benanna Bakery in the summer and learned about his passion for what goes into our food really matters. Our whole family loves visiting Benanna Bakery for its fresh bread and treats.
Baker Ben was trained in Holland, where he learned the importance of whole, simple and real ingredients. These are the building blocks for the best bread and baked goods.
He traveled across Canada to meet with millers to understand their products and process and is proud of the fact that most of his flour is Canadian Grown, Organic and Non-GMO.
“Bleached flour is a dirty word around here”, Ben chuckled.
He also tries to keep things simple, by using only REAL butter, milk, eggs, and olive oils. Ben told us, “We use no additives, EVER”.
Learning about sourdough.
And please, please, please don’t judge my complete lack of baking skills!
